Lift screens from Schindler conquer the digital advertising market with FRAMEN

Schindler is cooperating with another marketer and is taking the lead in promoting high-quality lift screens as a digital advertising platform. FRAMEN will market 150 hotels in the upscale hotel industry in the DACH region in the upcoming months. The first advertising campaigns are already running in lifts at some locations, entertaining guests with infotainment.

The most important points summarised:

  • Screens in 150 upscale three to four-star superior hotels can now be booked individually through FRAMEN. By 2025, the digital offer in the lift will be expanded to 220 hotels in Salzburg, Tyrol and Vorarlberg.
  • The individually bookable spot length is 60 seconds, with three 10-second spots available for advertising and a further 30 seconds for hotel information.
  • Good infotainment provides entertainment, informs guests and relieves hotel staff.
  • Lift screens are ideal from an advertising point of view: attention is almost undivided in the lifts and every hotel guest will use them. Specified time targeting further increases the advertising impact.

Berlin, 24 April, 2024 The first hotel locations in Salzburg, Tyrol and Vorarlberg are already connected to the FRAMEN screen network and professionally marketed, including programmatically. The digital advertising platform in the lift has been met with great interest from hoteliers and advertising partners alike. The infotainment content ranges from weather reports and leisure activities in the region to wellness offers and the hotel's à la carte menu. The advertising content reaches a high-income target group and offers new touchpoints for advertisers. As lift rides are not very varied, good infotainment not only provides entertainment and information for hotel guests, but also relieves the burden on hotel staff. Specified time targeting at the main frequency times around breakfast, lunch and dinner increases advertising effectiveness and efficiency. An average of two screens are installed in the lifts per hotel.

Information and entertainment during the waiting period

"The hotel lift is the perfect hub for information and entertainment: almost all guests use it, and thanks to simple programming by the hotels, content such as excursion tips or free slots in the wellness area can be communicated in real time. Digital communication in the lift thus becomes an added value for hotel guests, advertisers and hoteliers," explains Gottfried Jung, Existing Installation Director at Schindler Austria. The new advertising network covers the Alpine region of Austria, which is known to many as a dream destination for hiking and skiing holidays. The bookable locations include places such as Ischgl and Kitzbühel, Saalbach-Hinterglemm, Zell am See as well as the Zillertal, Sölden, Lech and St. Anton am Arlberg.

High advertising effectiveness thanks to almost undivided attention

Hotels in these areas appeal to a diverse target group. It ranges from skiers and snowboarders to families, wellness and relaxation seekers, company events, outdoor enthusiasts and gourmets. "We see enormous potential in content playout in the lift. Guests usually have no mobile phone reception during the journey and are open to good infotainment. Holidaymakers, nature lovers and sports enthusiasts can be targeted," says Antonello Romano, Senior Growth Manager at FRAMEN. Advertisers and agencies can book the hotel locations directly and programmatically via the FRAMEN Ads Manager - a tool with which advertising campaigns can be created and tracked live in just a few minutes.
